SESSION 4 - SATURDAY, NOV 30TH 2024 DANCE RECRUITMENT CLINIC
WHEN: Saturday, November 30th, 2024
TIME: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
CHECK-IN: Check-in will start at 12:30 PM – 30 minutes before the camp starts.
WHAT IS THE COST? $132 ($125 + $7 Fee)
LOCATION: UCF Education Building Gymnasium (air conditioned). 12494 University Blvd. Orlando, FL 32816.
WHO WILL TEACH THE CAMP? The clinic will feature master instructor Danny Lawn and will also be taught by the UCF Dance Team coaching staff.
WHAT WILL THEY LEARN? This Training Clinic is designed for dancers 12 and up looking to advance their training and potentially become a part of the UCF Dance Team. Dancers will learn choreography (contemporary, hip hop and pom) and work elite technical and acro skills. The coaching staff will provide dancers with feedback and review the recruitment process. The clinic will wrap with a Q&A session where dancers will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the program and recruitment. It is your opportunity to have the coaching staff observe skills and for you to meet and learn about the UCF Dance Team.
WHAT ARE THE AGE REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND THE CAMP? Dancers ages 12 and up are welcome to attend.
CAN PARENTS OR COACHES STAY AND WATCH? Coaches and parents are not permitted to observe this recruitment camp. This is a time for dancers to shine and work one-on-one with the UCF Dance Team and coaching staff.
WHAT IS THE SENIOR SHOWCASE? A senior showcase will follow immediately after the clinic. This is an opportunity open to high school seniors and current college students. Dancers will have the chance to perform a 1-minute solo in their style of choice. Costumes are not required; however they are allowed. Please submit your 1-minute cut music to ucfdance@gmail.com.
WHAT ABOUT PARKING ON CAMPUS? We recommend parking in Garage A. Parking is free in this garage on the weekends.
PLEASE MAKE US AWARE IF YOU /YOUR CHILD HAS ANY PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS. Our trainer will be at registration.
WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR? Form-fitting attire, jazz shoes or pirouette shoes and sneakers. Remember that coaches may be getting their first impression of you so you should be neatly groomed.
